Project Abstract

FRIEND BOOK: A SEMANTIC-BASED FRIEND RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM FOR SOCIAL NETWORKS

ABSTRACT

We have implemented Friend book on the Android-based smart phones, and evaluated its performance on both small-scale experiments and large-scale simulation. The results show that the recommendations accurately reflect the preferences of users in choosing friends. In this paper, we present Friend book, a novel semantic-based friend recommendation system for social networks, which recommends friends to users based on their life styles instead of social graphs. By taking advantage of sensor-rich smart phones, Friend book discovers life styles of users from user-centric sensor data, measures the similarity of life styles between users, and recommends friends to users if their life styles have high similarity. . Existing social networking services recommend friends to users based on their social graphs, which may not be the most appropriate to reflect a user’s preferences on friend selection in real life. Inspired by text mining, we model a user’s daily life as life documents, from which his/her life styles are extracted by using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation algorithm. We further propose a similarity metric to measure the similarity of life styles between users, and calculate users’ impact in terms of life styles with a friend-matching graph. Upon receiving a request, Friend book returns a list of people with highest recommendation scores to the query user. Finally, Friend book integrates a feedback mechanism to further improve the recommendation accuracy.

EXISTING SYSTEM

PROPOSED SYSTEM

EXISTING CONCEPT:-

First, Friend book protects users’ privacy at the data level. Instead of uploading raw data to the servers, Friend book processes raw data and classifies them into activities in real-time. The Recognized activities are labeled by integers.

Second, Friend book protects users’ privacy at the life pattern level. Instead of telling the similar life styles of users, Friend book only shows the recommendation scores of the recommended friends with the users.

PROPOSED CONCEPT:-

In FB life style information is discovered from smart phone sensors. We model the daily lives of users as life documents and use the probabilistic topic model to extract life style information of users.

We propose a unique similarity metric to characterize the similarity of users in terms of life styles and then construct a friend-matching graph to recommend friends to users based on their life styles.

EXISTING ALGORITHM:-

Iterative algorithm.

PROPOSED ALGORITHM:-

Latent Dirichlet Allocation algorithm.

ALGORITHM  DEFNITION:-

An iterative method is a mathematical procedure that generates a sequence of improving approximate solutions for a class of problems. A specific implementation of an iterative method, including the termination criteria, is an algorithm of the iterative method.

ALGORITHM  DEFNITION:-

LDA algorithm and alternative decomposition approaches. It is worth noting that the matrix decomposition process can be implemented more efficiently through incremental iteration.

DRAWBACKS:-

Recommendation accuracy is impossible in existing system.

Thus the two users’ privacy is effectiveness in the existing system.

ADVANTAGES:-

Improve the recommendation accuracy.

Demonstrate the effectiveness of our propose system compare the existing system.
