ON THE SUM-RATE OF THE GAUSSIAN MIMO Z CHANNEL AND THE GAUSSIAN MIMO X CHANNEL

Category : Communication

Sub Category : MIMO

Project Code : ITCM01

Project Abstract

In this paper, we study the Gaussian MIMO Z channel and the Gaussian MIMO X channel. The MIMO X channel (XC) consists of two multiple antenna transmit-receive pairs, where each transmitter communicates with both receivers. The MIMO Z channel (ZC) is obtained from the MIMO X channel by eliminating one of the links and its corresponding message. First, we derive a sum-rate upper bound for the MIMO Z channel and compare it with an existing bound in literature. Next, we consider the MIMO X channel and propose a new sum-rate upper bound by utilizing the sum-rate upper bound for the MIMO ZC. Subsequently, we derive another upper bound for the MIMO XC by assuming receiver cooperation and deriving the worst noise covariance matrix for the resulting two-user MAC. We compare the above two upper bounds for the MIMO XC with the Maddah- Ali-Motahari-Khandani (MMK) scheme. Then, we consider some consequences of the above results for the MIMO interference channel. Finally, we present some numerical results. The numerical results suggest that the proposed sum-rate capacity upper bounds are tighter than existing bounds.

EXISTING SYSTEM

PROPOSED SYSTEM

EXISTING CONCEPT

The X channel is a generalization of the 2-user interference channel with 4 independent messages, one from each transmitter to each receiver.

The X channel is related to the “double dirty” multiple access channel.

Where linear codes have been shown to outperform random codes. This is because, like the “double dirty” multiple access channel, each transmitter in an X channel has side-information about its own potentially interfering transmissions to the other receiver.

PROPOSED CONCEPT

MIMO Z channel and the Gaussian MIMO X channel.

Next, we consider the MIMO X channel and propose a new sum-rate upper bound by utilizing the sum-rate upper bound for the MIMO ZC.

we derive another upper bound for the MIMO XC by assuming receiver cooperation and deriving the worst noise covariance matrix for the resulting two-user MAC.

EXISTING TECHNIQUE:

Generalized Degrees of Freedom technique used.

PROPOSED TECHNIQUE:

Interference alignment technique.

Combine dirty paper coding.

zero forcing and successive Decoding.

TECHNIQUE DEFINITION:

GDOF is a generalization of the concept of degrees of freedom. The conventional degrees of freedom perspective where all signals are approximately. The GDOF perspective provides a richer characterization by allowing the full range of relative signal strengths in the dB scale.

TECHNIQUE DEFINITION:

The combine dirty paper coding, zero forcing (ZF), and successive decoding methods to obtain signaling schemes which achieve the highest multiplexing gain or the degrees of freedom. IA transmit filters and ZF receive filters are designed for the XC.

DRAWBACKS

Interference alignment very low.

Sum-rate is low.

Worst noise covariance.

ADVANTAGES

Significant increases in data rates without additional bandwidth.

Increased transmit power

Avoid worst noise covariance.

Improving signal quality
